While I do enjoy the intensity of heavily extracted Malbecs, the lighter styles can offer such pleasure. 'La Linda' is just that - dry and lightly spicy, with refreshing, crunchy fruit. Equally at home with bangers and mash as it is with seared lamb, it offers excellent refreshment and really very good balance for the money.
The Luigi Bosca winery make the most extraordinary range of Malbecs, as well as other red blends and even a Chardonnay. At the upper end, we need to look out for the Petit Verdot/Malbec 'Field Blend Los Nobles' 2014 and the 'Icono' Malbec 2011. £££ and ££££. Here soon I hope.
